School Climate

A positive school climate helps students feel safe, connected, respected, and ready to learn. When students experience strong relationships, clear expectations, and a sense of belonging, they are more likely to engage in school and seek support when needed. Challenges such as bullying, exclusion, conflict, or unsafe behavior can weaken personal connections and negatively affect the way students and staff experience the school day.

The following resources provide information about strengthening school climate, building positive relationships, and recognizing when students may need additional support. These resources are intended to supplement information in support of a comprehensive approach to school safety.
